Indoor Air Quality — Book a Visit Today

We install and service whole-home air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, UV lights and fresh air ventilation on residential HVAC systems across Florida. Most indoor air quality complaints trace back to a few things: a filter that is too restrictive or too loose in its rack, a system that short cycles and never runs long enough to pull moisture out of the house, a clogged condensate drain, duct leaks pulling attic air into the return, or a UV lamp that quit years ago and was never replaced. A visit starts with humidity and airflow readings in the living space, then a look at the return, the coil, the drain and the duct connections. We tell you what is causing the smell or the sticky air, then what it takes to fix it. Call us and describe what you are noticing.

The indoor air quality symptoms we hear most

  • The house feels clammy even though the thermostat says 74 Oversized system short cycling, or a dehumidification problem at the coil
  • A musty smell hits us every time the air conditioning kicks on Microbial growth on the coil or in the drain pan, or wet duct insulation
  • We dust on Saturday and it is back by Monday Return leaks and duct gaps pulling attic and wall cavity air into the system
  • Somebody in the house wakes up stuffy and scratchy every morning Low filtration, high humidity feeding dust mites, or no fresh air ventilation
  • There are black specks around the supply vents Filter bypass in the rack, or duct board and liner breaking down

Search for it as indoor air quality work or air purifier installation and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1.
  • 2Check the filter. If it is grey, fuzzy or bowed into the frame, change it and note the size so we can confirm the rack is right.
  • 3Confirm every supply vent and return grille is open and not blocked by furniture or rugs, since closed vents raise humidity in the rooms that need it most.
  • 4Look at the thermostat settings and fan mode. Fan set to ON instead of AUTO can re-evaporate moisture off the coil and make the house feel damp.

Indoor Air Quality — quick answers

What humidity should we hold indoors in Florida?

Most homes feel right between 45 and 55 percent relative humidity. Above that, the air feels heavy and mold has what it needs. A whole-home dehumidifier holds that range without forcing the air conditioning to overcool the house.

Do UV lights actually do anything?

A UV lamp aimed at the evaporator coil and drain pan helps keep biological growth off surfaces that stay wet, which is where musty smells usually start. Lamps lose output and need replacing on a schedule, so we check the install date.

Is a thicker filter better?

Better filtration only helps if your system can move air through it. A dense filter on ductwork sized for a thin one starves airflow and freezes coils. We measure static pressure first, then recommend a media cabinet that fits the system.

Why would a Florida home need a humidifier?

Rarely for humidity, but homes with heavy heating runtime in the northern part of the state, or tightly built houses running long heat cycles, can drop dry enough to crack wood and irritate sinuses. We measure before recommending one.

Can indoor air quality equipment fix a smell coming from the vents?

Sometimes, but not until we find the source. A wet duct liner, a plugged condensate drain or standing water in the pan needs correcting first. Adding a purifier over an active moisture problem just covers it briefly.

What should we do if we smell gas?

Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches on your way out. Once the utility clears the property, call us about the heating system.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, ice on the lineset, a humming outdoor unit. That detail helps us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the air handler, the condenser and the electrical side, then measure what the system is actually doing. You get a plain explanation of the fault and the repair options before we start.

  3. Step 3

    We repair and verify

Once the repair is done we run the system and confirm temperature split, drainage and airflow at the vents. If a part is on order, we tell you the timeline instead of leaving you guessing.

Why homeowners call us

  • We plan for salt airCoastal humidity and salt eat coils, contactors and cabinet screws. We look for corrosion during every visit and treat it as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought, so a repaired system does not fail again in the same spot.
  • Built for constant runtimeFlorida systems run most of the year, so bearings, capacitors and drain lines wear faster than the manual suggests. We size repairs around that reality and point out the components likely to be next in line.
  • Old houses and new onesIsland properties often hide ductwork in tight, damp spaces, while tract homes tend to have short, undersized returns. We have worked both and adjust the approach rather than forcing one standard fix.
  • Clear talk, no upsell theatreWe tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense for the age of the equipment. If a repair will hold, we say so and get on with it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
