AC Not Cooling

When your air conditioner runs but the house never gets cool, we diagnose and repair it. That is this job: finding out why the air coming from your vents is warm, weak, or barely moving, and fixing the cause. Homeowners across Florida call us when the thermostat says 74 and the room feels like 81. Before you call, check the filter, confirm the breaker has not tripped, and make sure vents are open. Then reach out and we will get a technician to your door.

HVAC technician at work

Whether you call it an AC not cooling or air conditioner blowing warm air, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.

What an AC repair call for weak cooling involves

We start at the thermostat and work outward. A technician confirms what the system is actually doing versus what it is being told to do, then measures temperature across the indoor coil and checks airflow at the return. From there we move outside to the condenser, looking at the contactor, capacitor, fan motor, and coil condition. Salt air near the coast eats at coil fins and electrical terminals, so we check for corrosion on every call. The goal is one clear cause, not a list of maybes.

What we check and what we replace

Common findings are a clogged filter choking airflow, a failed run capacitor keeping the compressor from starting, a burned contactor, a coil packed with dust or grass clippings, and low refrigerant from a leak. We also check the blower wheel, drain line, and duct connections in the attic, because a disconnected supply run dumps cold air where nobody lives. Refrigerant and high voltage work stays with our technicians. Filter changes and clearing leaves around the outdoor unit are yours.

How we decide repair is the right call

We look at what failed, why it failed, and what else is close behind. A capacitor on an otherwise sound system is a straightforward repair. A leaking coil on a unit that has been running nearly nonstop through humid summers is a different conversation, and we say so plainly. Constant runtime in Florida ages equipment faster than the calendar suggests. We tell you what we found, what it takes to fix, and what we would do if it were our own house.

AC Not Cooling — quick answers

Why does my air conditioner run all day and never reach the set temperature?

Usually airflow or refrigerant. A blocked filter, dirty coil, or leak all leave the system running without removing heat. Duct leaks in a hot attic cause the same symptom. We measure to tell which.

Should I turn the system off while I wait for air conditioner repair?

If it is blowing warm air and running constantly, switch it off at the thermostat. That protects the compressor from repeated hard starts. Leave the breaker alone and let us handle the electrical side.

Could a dirty filter really stop my AC from cooling?

Yes. A loaded filter starves the indoor coil of air, which can ice the coil over and cut cooling to almost nothing. Swap it, give the system a few hours, and call us if nothing changes.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, ice on the lineset, a humming outdoor unit. That detail helps us load the right parts before we drive out.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

We check the thermostat, the air handler, the condenser and the electrical side, then measure what the system is actually doing. You get a plain explanation of the fault and the repair options before we start.

  3. Step 3

    We repair and verify

Once the repair is done we run the system and confirm temperature split, drainage and airflow at the vents. If a part is on order, we tell you the timeline instead of leaving you guessing.

Why homeowners call us

  • We plan for salt airCoastal humidity and salt eat coils, contactors and cabinet screws. We look for corrosion during every visit and treat it as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought, so a repaired system does not fail again in the same spot.
  • Built for constant runtimeFlorida systems run most of the year, so bearings, capacitors and drain lines wear faster than the manual suggests. We size repairs around that reality and point out the components likely to be next in line.
  • Old houses and new onesIsland properties often hide ductwork in tight, damp spaces, while tract homes tend to have short, undersized returns. We have worked both and adjust the approach rather than forcing one standard fix.
  • Clear talk, no upsell theatreWe tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense for the age of the equipment. If a repair will hold, we say so and get on with it.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersWhen a replacement beats a repair, we tell you, sometimes before we roll a truck.
