The furnace installation symptoms we hear most
- The heater runs, then quits, then runs again all evening Short cycling from oversizing, a restricted return, or a limit switch shutting the unit down
- Some rooms never warm up no matter how long it runs Duct sizing and distribution problems, often paired with an undersized or badly placed furnace
- I smell gas near the furnace Leave the building first, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us. Do not touch switches
- A tech told me the heat exchanger is cracked Cracked exchanger, which is a replacement conversation and a carbon monoxide risk, not a patch
- Parts for my unit are on back order again Obsolete furnace with discontinued boards, valves or inducer assemblies
Whether you call it furnace installation, furnace replacement or heater installation, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Check the thermostat settings and swap the batteries, since a weak set can drop the call for heat mid cycle.
- 2Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or furnace circuit and reset it once.
- 3Change the filter if it is grey or matted, because a clogged filter can trip the high limit and mimic a dead furnace.
- 4Walk the house and confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.

How do you size a new furnace?
We measure the house rather than matching the old BTU rating. Room dimensions, insulation, window area, orientation and duct capacity all go into the load calculation. Homes that were re-roofed or had windows replaced often need less heating capacity than the original unit provided.
Can I reuse my existing ductwork?
Often yes, but we inspect it first. We look for crushed runs, disconnected boots, undersized returns and leakage at joints. If the duct system cannot move the air the new furnace produces, we fix that as part of the install rather than after.
How long does a furnace replacement take?
Most straightforward swaps are a single day. Adding gas line work, changing the flue, relocating the unit or rebuilding the return plenum can push it into a second day. We tell you which one you are looking at before we start.
Is a high-efficiency upgrade worth it in Florida?
It depends on how much you actually run heat. Homes that only need heat a few weeks a year may see more benefit from better ductwork and air sealing. We give you both options and the reasoning, then you choose.
What happens to my AC when the furnace is replaced?
On a shared system the indoor coil and blower live with the furnace, so we check that the new blower matches your cooling equipment. If the coil is old and corroded, we say so, because replacing it later means opening the same cabinet again.
Do you handle the permit and inspection?
Yes. We pull the mechanical permit where your jurisdiction requires one and we are present for the inspection. Gas connections, venting and clearances all get looked at, which is worth having on record if you sell the house.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form with what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, ice on the lineset, a humming outdoor unit. That detail helps us load the right parts before we drive out.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
We check the thermostat, the air handler, the condenser and the electrical side, then measure what the system is actually doing. You get a plain explanation of the fault and the repair options before we start.
- Step 3
We repair and verify
Once the repair is done we run the system and confirm temperature split, drainage and airflow at the vents. If a part is on order, we tell you the timeline instead of leaving you guessing.

Why homeowners call us
- We plan for salt airCoastal humidity and salt eat coils, contactors and cabinet screws. We look for corrosion during every visit and treat it as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought, so a repaired system does not fail again in the same spot.
- Built for constant runtimeFlorida systems run most of the year, so bearings, capacitors and drain lines wear faster than the manual suggests. We size repairs around that reality and point out the components likely to be next in line.
- Old houses and new onesIsland properties often hide ductwork in tight, damp spaces, while tract homes tend to have short, undersized returns. We have worked both and adjust the approach rather than forcing one standard fix.
- Clear talk, no upsell theatreWe tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense for the age of the equipment. If a repair will hold, we say so and get on with it.
